Come & Worship with Us!

Worship is the central component of life within the congregation at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. We worship at 10:00 AM each Sunday. The services generally follow the same format. We share the Word of God each week and offer a special message for children. The highlight of our weekly worship comes as we share in Holy Communion. Worship lasts about an hour.

We follow a liturgy similar to many other churches. The word “liturgy” means “work of the people,” which reminds us that worship should be participatory.

We use the Revised Common Lectionary, which many other churches and denominations use, for scripture lessons each week. We also share in communion every Sunday. All who are accustomed to receiving communion (including children) are welcome to do so each Sunday morning.

We are a “come as you are” congregation. There is no expectation of wearing formal clothing.

Missions at OSLC

Our Saviours have been blessed to receive the Peeler Casey Grant from the ELCA NC Synod. This grant is awarded once a year. We are going to use the grant money for our Red Door Pantry ministry. We will have several Fresh Food Give-away events for the Red Door Pantry patrons.

We have just completed our first Fresh Food Give-away offering boneless skinless chicken thighs, corn on the cob, squash, potatoes, onions, watermelon and cantaloupe. We provided food to nine (9) families in the community. As we distributed the food, tears of gratitude were shed and hugs exchanged. The recipients were blessed, and we feel immensely blessed as well.

We at Our Saviour’s Lutheran thank the Peeler Casey fund and the NC Synod for trusting us with this generous grant. We also offer our deepest gratitude to our Lord and Savior for calling us to serve and be His hands and feet on earth.
